Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team tips off the 2010 season on Wednesday with the Cru looking for a return to the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament. UMHB has narrowly missed a berth in each of the past two seasons with the Cru being eliminated from contention on the final day of the regular season. The Cru will build around a core of nine returners this year, including three starters from last season.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s soccer team opens the 2010 season on Wednesday with what may be the highest expectations in the history of the program. The Cru women are coming off the best season in the history of the program after posting a school-record for wins last season and winning an American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament match for the first time. The UMHB women will open the 2010 season at home on Wednesday, September 1st with a 4:00 PM start against Southwestern University. The Cru women will then have almost a full week off before returning to action with a 7:00 PM start at Trinity University next Tuesday, September 7th.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team faced its toughest competition of the 2010 season so far, when the Cru faced off against itself in the team’s annual Purple/White game Friday night at Tiger Field. The team went through a two and a half hour controlled scrimmage with scripted scenarios.

Colonel Larry Phelps, the commander of the 15th Sustainment Brigade, addressed the team Thursday night, fresh off the unit’s deployment to Iraq.

Christina had 23 kills over four matches this past weekend at the U.T.-Tyler Tournament. She led the Cru in kills in three of those matches, including a three-set victory over Jarvis Christian that gave UMHB its first victory of the season.

Men's Soccer
Bo scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the Cru's 2-1 season opening victory over Trinity University. UMHB's win snapped the Tigers 52-match regular season home winning streak. He then scored the Cru's only goal in a 2-1 loss at Southwestern University.
