Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball team will face Wheaton College in an NCAA Division III National Championship First Round Game at the Mayborn Campus Center tonight at 7:00 PM. It will be the first NCAA postseason home game in the history of the Cru men’s basketball program and UMHB will be making its third overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Belton, TX— The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball team placed five players on the American Southwest Conference All-West Division Teams released today. Cru Head Coach Ken DeWeese also wins West Division Coach of the Year honors for the fourth straight season.

Belton, TX – Tickets for Thursday night’s University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball NCAA Division III National Championships home game against Wheaton College are on sale at the front desk in the fitness area of the Mayborn Campus Center. Tickets will be on sale to the public from 12-6 PM on Tuesday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday and from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Thursday. The ticket booths at the front of the Mayborn Campus Center will then open at 5:30 PM on Thursday before the 7:00 PM tip-off.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball team’s reward for winning its second American Southwest Conference Championship will be a third trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships and for the first time in the program’s history the postseason will start at home. The Cru (22-6) will host Wheaton (Ill.) College (18-8) in a first round NCAA Tournament game at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 4th.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball team built a 15-point second-half lead and then held off a furious U.T.-Dallas comeback as the Cru posted an 80-70 victory over the Comets to win the American Southwest Conference Championship in the ASC Tournament title game Sunday in Belton. UMHB improves to 22-6 on the season with the victory and claims the league’s automatic berth to the NCAA Division III National Championships. U.T.-Dallas falls to 23-5 on the year with the loss and the defeat also snaps a five-game ASC Tournament winning streak for the Comets.

Max Taylor
Football
Max has been named of 112 finalists for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. He has helped organize the UMHB Sole 2 Soul campaign each of the past two years. That campaign has helped raise nearly $3,300 and four boxes of shoes for donation to orphans in Haiti. Max is also a Preseason All-American and one of the team leaders for the Cru football program on and off the field.
Sara Hayward
Women's Volleyball
Sara has been elected to serve as President of the UMHB Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The junior is also a standout on the court for the Cru volleyball team and she will be counted on to serve as a team leader in addition to her duties as SAAC President.
