Marble Falls, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s golf team put together two solid rounds and the Cru men are in second place after the first day of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament Monday in Marble Falls. The Cru fired a 299-302=601 total and trail first-place U.T.-Tyler’s 289-293=582 by 19 strokes. Schreiner University is in third place with a 316-300=616, Mississippi College posted a 304-313=617 for fourth place and Concordia Texas rounds out the top five after shooting 311-307=618. Texas Lutheran University is in sixth place after carding a 309-310=619, U.T.-Dallas shot 312-312=624 for seventh place, McMurry University holds down eighth place with a 321-304-625 and Hardin-Simmons University is in ninth place after recording a 319-329=648 today. The two-day, 54-hole event is being played on a par-71, 6,405-yard layout at Horseshoe Bay Resort.

HORSHOE BAY, Texas –– Eighty-two golfers – 47 men, 35 women – are set to tee off on Monday (April 19) at the 2010 American Southwest Conference Golf Championships being played over two days for the first time at Horseshoe Bay Resort. The conference office released the field on Wednesday (April 14).

Round Rock, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s golf team slid one spot in the standings on the final day and the Cru men took sixth place at the West Region Invitational Tuesday afternoon in Round Rock. The UMHB men posted a 313-314-313=940 and finished 60 strokes behind tournament champion U.T.-Brownsville’s 285-290-305=880. Trinity University took second place after shooting 307-304-288=899, tournament host Southwestern University finished with a 296-310-301=907 for third place, Texas Lutheran University claimed fourth place with a 306-309-310=925 and Concordia Texas finished in fifth place, 14 strokes ahead of UMHB with a 315-312-299=926. California Lutheran finished in seventh place with a 301-327-313=941 and McMurry University rounded out the field with a 324-314-312=950 team total. The two-day, 54-hole event was played on a par-72, 7,040-yard layout at Teravista Golf Course in Round Rock.

The UMHB men fired a 313-314=627 and the Cru is tied for fifth place with Concordia Texas (315-312=627). U.T.-Brownsville holds down the top spot after posting the two lowest rounds of the tournament to card a 285-290=575. Tournament host Southwestern University is in second place with a 296-310=606, Trinity University’s 307-304=611 is good for third place and Texas Lutheran is in fourth place, 12 strokes ahead of the Cru with a 306-309=615 team total. California Lutheran is in seventh place with a 301-327=628 and McMurry University rounds out the field after shooting 324-314=638. The two-day, 54-hole event is being played on a par-72, 7,040-yard layout at Tervista Golf Course in Round Rock.

Lompoc, CA – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s golf team fired the lowest team round on the second day of the tournament and the Cru moved up three spots to claim a sixth place finish at the Kingsmen Invitational Tuesday in California. The UMHB men finished with a 326-322-310=958 team total and the Cru came in 40 strokes behind team champion Claremont-Mudd-Scripps’ team total of 295-308-315=918. Redlands took second place with a 306-317-311=934, La Verne finished third after shooting 309-305-321=935, Master’s claimed fourth place after carding a 317-311-312=940 and Linfield College finished fifth with a 316-310-316=942. UMHB also finished ahead of American Southwest Conference rivals McMurry University, Texas Lutheran University and Hardin-Simmons University in the 15-team field. The two-day, 54-hole event was played on a par-72, 7,105-yard layout at La Purisima Golf Course in Lompoc, California.

Bo Baker
Men's Soccer
Bo scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the Cru's 2-1 season opening victory over Trinity University. UMHB's win snapped the Tigers 52-match regular season home winning streak. He then scored the Cru's only goal in a 2-1 loss at Southwestern University.
Tina Miller
Women's Volleyball
Christina had 23 kills over four matches this past weekend at the U.T.-Tyler Tournament. She led the Cru in kills in three of those matches, including a three-set victory over Jarvis Christian that gave UMHB its first victory of the season.
