Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer team placed five players on the American Southwest Conference Fall Academic All-Conference Team released today. To be eligible for the ASC Academic All-Conference Teams, a player must be a sophomore, junior or senior, earn a letter and maintain at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer team could not overcome a pair of costly late mistakes as the Cru fell to Hardin-Simmons University 2-0 in an NCAA Division III National Championship First Round Match Thursday in Belton. The two teams were meeting in Belton for the third time in four weeks.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer team placed seven players on the American Southwest Conference All-Conference teams released today. The Cru had four players named to the All-ASC First Team, one player was named to the both the Second Team and Third Team and UMHB also had an Honorable Mention All-Conference pick. Head coach Brad Bankhead was also voted ASC Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer team has received a bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships for the first time in the program’s history and the Cru will also get a chance to play its first postseason game on its home field. The UMHB men will host American Southwest Conference rival Hardin-Simmons University for a 1:00 PM start in a first-round game on Thursday, November 12th, at the Cru Sports Plex. The winner of the UMHB-HSU match will then advance to the second round to take on Trinity University in San Antonio on Sunday, November 15th. The Cru received one of 17 Pool C, or at-large bids to the NCAA Championships after closing out the best season in the history of the UMHB men’s soccer program.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer team has earned a berth in the NCAA Division III National Championships. It is the first NCAA postseason bid in the program’s history. The full bracket will be released tomorrow and more details will follow at that time. Stay posted to cruathletics.com for more information. The UMHB men could play as early as Thursday depending on the final set-up of the bracket.

Athletes of the Week
Sara Hayward
Women's Volleyball
Sara has been elected to serve as President of the UMHB Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The junior is also a standout on the court for the Cru volleyball team and she will be counted on to serve as a team leader in addition to her duties as SAAC President.
Max Taylor
Football
Max has been named of 112 finalists for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. He has helped organize the UMHB Sole 2 Soul campaign each of the past two years. That campaign has helped raise nearly $3,300 and four boxes of shoes for donation to orphans in Haiti. Max is also a Preseason All-American and one of the team leaders for the Cru football program on and off the field.
