Belton, TX – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football player Bryson Tucker has been named American Southwest Conference Co-Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the Cru's 52-10 victory over East Texas Baptist last Saturday. Tucker, a senior running back/defensive back/kick returner from Caldwell High School, scored the game's first points on a 47-yard punt return. He finished with 51 yards in punt returns, 20 yards on a kickoff return and 46 yards rushing and a touchdown on eight carries to help lead UMHB to the win. Tucker shares the weekly honor with Louisiana College kick returner Jordan Rideaux.
The Cru is currently 7-1 overall and 5-1 in ASC play. UMHB will hit the road to face Howard Payne University (4-4, 2-4 ASC) in a 2:00 PM kickoff this Saturday in Brownwood. The Yellow Jackets are coming off a 38-24 upset victory over Mississippi College yesterday.
