Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team fought back from a late deficit and scored two goals in the final 11 minutes as the Cru posted a 2-1 victory over Mississippi College Saturday afternoon in Belton. UMHB raises its record to 5-5-1 overall and 4-3-1 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. The loss drops the Choctaws to 8-3-1 overall and 4-3 in the ASC on the season.
            The two teams would stay scoreless until midway through the second half. Mississippi College drew first blood when Lesly Melo scored on a penalty kick 67:24 into the match to make it 1-0 Choctaws. The Cru tied the match when Jordan Powers scored off a Laura Briner assist at the 79:22 mark of the match. UMHB scored what proved to be the game-winner when Taylor Bullock knocked home another Briner assist with just 33 seconds left in the match. Mississippi College would not get a shot at tying the match as the Cru held on for the victory.

            Meredith West finished with two saves in goal for the Cru. Jessica Ford had four saves for the Choctaws. UMHB would out shoot the Choctaws 11-4 in the match.

            The Cru will now hit the road for Abilene to play a pair of key ASC road matches next weekend. UMHB will face McMurry University in a 1:00 PM start on Friday before closing out the weekend with a 1:00 PM start against Hardin-Simmons University on Saturday.
