Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team will make its eighth straight NCAA Division III National Championships appearance and its tenth in the last 11 years and the Cru will open the postseason at home after the announcement of the 32-team field this afternoon. UMHB will open the postseason at Tiger Field with a 12:00 PM kickoff next Saturday, November 19th, against University of Redlands (8-1, 5-1 SCIAC). The Cru went 10-0 this regular season to post the second consecutive perfect regular season in school history and UMHB won the American Southwest Conference Championship with an 8-0 league record. UMHB will be opening the postseason at home for the fifth time in school history and the Cru will be facing off with the Bulldogs for the first time. Redlands advanced to the NCAA postseason as the runner-up from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and claimed an at-large berth in the postseason.

“It is exciting to have a chance to play at home and the bracket the way it was announced is really exciting for us,” Cru head coach Pete Fredenburg said. “I think it really helps the playoff atmosphere for our guys to face someone we haven't played before. We are ready to get back to work and learn something about Redlands so we can put a game plan together.”

The winner of the UMHB/Redlands game will advance to play the winner of the McMurry University vs. Trinity University opening round game. UMHB would host that game should the Cru win the playoff opener.
