Men's basketball hosts Wheaton College in NCAA Tournament Thursday night

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's basketball team will face Wheaton College in an NCAA Division III National Championship First Round Game at the Mayborn Campus Center tonight at 7:00 PM. It will be the first NCAA postseason home game in the history of the Cru men's basketball program and UMHB will be making its third overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

            The Cru is 22-6 overall on the season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament as the American Southwest Conference Champions. Wheaton College is 18-8 overall on the season and advanced as an at-large team out of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. The Thunder is making its seventh overall appearance in the Division III National Championships and its third in a row. Wheaton College has an all-time record of 7-6 in NCAA Division III National Championship play.

            The winner of tonight's game will advance to the Second Round to face U.T.-Dallas on Saturday. The Comets will host that 7:00 PM tip-off at the UTD Activity Center in Richardson. The winner of Saturday's game will advance to Division III's “Sweet Sixteen” and the sectional tournament at a campus to be determined.
