Women’s Golf closes out fall season at Golfweek DIII Fall Invitational

DESTIN, Florida – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's golf team tied for seventh place out of 24 teams at the Golfweek DIII Fall Invitational.
 
Avery Hill lead the Cru shooting a 73-72-81=226 (+10) to tie for 16th place individually. Sydney McConnell shot an overall 228 (+12) to tie for 21st place, while Sarah Kmiecik carded a three-round total 231 (+15) to finish in the 29th spot. Lexie Manriquez and Lily Self also competed for the Cru finishing the tournament with a 238 (+22) and a 255 (+39), respectively.
 
UMHB finished tied for seventh place with Denison, shooting an overall 305-294-324=923 (+59). Emory claimed the team win with a tournament-total 294-285-295=874 (+10). Washington University – St. Louis took second with a three-day total of 886 (+22) while Carnegie Mellon remained in third with an 899 (+35). Methodist University and Washington and Lee finished out the top five shooting a 906 (+42) and a 909 (+45), respectively. Pomona-Pitzer (921) finished in sixth place, just two strokes ahead of UMHB while Illinois Wesleyan (937) and Trinity (938) rounded out the top ten.
 
The UMHB women return to action in the Spring 2023 semester. The Cru competed in four tournament this season with two top-five finishes.
