GRANBURY, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golf team placed second at the ASC Preview in Granbury to close out the fall 2023 season.
Luke Lohman was the lead Crusader, placing second individually just one stroke behind ETBU's Jackson Sladek. Lohman carded a 74-70=144 (E), recording the lowest second round in the tournament.
William Sammons finished tied for fifth with a 77-72=150 (+6) followed by
Kyle Wandel in 13
th with a 77-76=153 (+9).
Darian Ruiz carded a 78-77=155 (+11) in place 18
th while
Grant Carter shot an 84-75=159 (+15) to finish top 25.
East Texas Baptist won the team competition with a two-round 592. UMHB finished second with an overall 306-292=598. LeTourneau came in third with a 604 while Hardin-Simmons finished fourth with a 616. Concordia (629) placed fifth while Howard Payne (646) took seventh and McMurry (657) finish eighth.
UMHB will return to action in the 2024 spring season.
