Women’s Golf finishes second at Linda Lowery Invitational

ROUND ROCK, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's golf team finished in second place out of eight teams at the 2023 Linda Lowery Invitational in Round Rock.
 
Sarah Kmiecik placed second individually, just one stroke behind St. Thomas' Emma Luna while shooting a 78-72=150 (+6). Kmiecik recorded five birdies and led the tournament with 23 pars. Avery Hill is finished fourth after shooting a 75-77=152 (+8). Grace Williams tied for 16th with a 165 (+21) while Lily Self shot a 166 (+22) and Sydney McConnell carded a 170 (+26). Brynn Williams also competed as an individual, shooting a 175 (+31).
 
UMHB shot a second-round 311 to finish second with a tournament total 318-311=629 (+53). UT Dallas won the team competition with an overall 317-308=625 (+49). Concordia took third place two strokes behind the Cru with a total 631 (+55). Southwestern (+76) and Letourneau (+87) rounded out the top five. St. Thomas, Schreiner and Southwestern B Team also competed in the tournament.
 
The Cru return to action April 2nd-4th at the West Region Invitational hosted by Southwestern University in Georgetown at Berry Creek Golf Course.
