Men’s Golf competes at California State Intercollegiate

VENTURA, Calif. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Men's Golf team opened the 2023-24 season finishing ninth at the California State Intercollegiate at Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura.

Trey Archer led the Cru with a final round 72 (E). He finished in a three-way tie for 16th place with an overall 74-71-72=217 (+1). Grant Carter closed out the tournament tied for 25th place carding a 74-72-75=221 (+5). Kyle Wandel finished with a 70-78-75=223 (+7) followed by William Sammons who carded a 79-71-75=225 (+9). Mathis Rollin shot a third-round 74 (+2) to finish with an overall 234 (+18).

UMHB shot a final round of 296 (+8) to end in ninth with a tournament total 297-291-296=884 (+20). California Lutheran University earned the team win with a three round 854 (-10). Westmont College came in second with an 860 (-4) while Chapman University and University of La Verne tied for third with an 876 (+12). The Master's University holds finished fifth with an 878 (+14) followed by University of Redlands and George Fox University tied in sixth, carding a final 879 (+15). Occidental College took eighth place with an 882 (+18).

UMHB will return to action September 25th-26th as they host the UMHB Invitational at Sammons Park Golf Course in Temple.
