TEMPLE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golf team had 12 Crusaders and two teams compete in the UMHB Men's Invitational Tuesday at Sammons Golf Course in Temple. The Cru had seven athletes shoot par or better in the final round of action.
Luke Lohman was the lead Crusader, finishing tied for seventh place with an overall 70-69=139 (-1).
Grant Carter followed in 11
th place with a 70-70=140 (E) while
Nikolas Keratsopoulos carded a 67-74=141 (+1) to tie for 14
th.
Trey Archer also finished top-20 with a two-round 72-70=142 (+2).
William Sammons and
Ian Clough both totaled a 143 (+3), followed by
Mathis Rollin with a 144 (+4).
Pablo Cortazar and
William Mullin both shot a 146 (+6), followed by
Darian Ruiz with a 149 (+9).
Kyle Wandel (151) and
Banner Scarborough (162) also competed for the Cru.
UT Dallas won the team competition with a 269-274=543 (-17) followed by Trinity University (Texas) in second with a 278-269=547 (-13). UMHB's first team finished in third, carding a 287-276=563 (+3). UT Dallas's second team came in fourth with a 564 (+4) while UMHB's second team finished fifth with a 284-284=568 (+8). Centenary came in sixth with an overall 571 (+11) followed by East Texas Baptist (576) in seventh and St. Thomas (578) in eighth. Belhaven (582) finished ninth and McMurry (587) came in tenth. Howard Payne (607) and Arlington Baptist (653) also competed in the tournament.
