LAKEWAY, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golf team finished third at the Linda Lowery Invitational Tuesday in Lakeway.
The Cru shot a second-round 324 (+36) to place them in third.
Trey Archer and
Luke Lohman led the Cru in round two, both shooting 79s (+7). Archer totaled three birdies and six pars in his round while Lohman had 10 pars and one birdie.
Grant Carter finished behind them with an 82 (+10) with Will Mullin and
William Sammons both carding a final-round 84 (+12).
Archer finished the tournament in seventh at +8, followed by Lohman in 16
th at +13. Carter also finished in the top 25 at +15, followed by Mullin (+20) in 38
th and Sammons (+25) in 49
th.
UT Dallas led the team competition with a 295-309=604 (+28). Concordia Texas carded the best round of the day with a 304 (+16) finishing second at +39 overall. Pacific Lutheran came behind the Cru in fourth at +56, shooting a 322 in round two, followed by Texas Lutheran (+62) with a 320 in the second round. St. Thomas (+64) moved up five spots to take sixth place, carding a 309 (+21) in round two while East Texas Baptist (+66) shot a 320 (+32), finishing in seventh. Hardin Simmons (+70), La Verne (+70), Grinnell (+70), Howard Payne (+75) and McMurry (+77) also competed in the tournament.
