SANDESTIN, Fl. - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golf team ended the 2025 fall season with an incredible win over the nation's top teams at the Golfweek October Classic.
The Crusaders shot 273 (-11) to win the classic, ending the first day in fourth before moving up to second and then finishing the tournament with a team win.
The lead Crusader was
Colton O'Dell shooting 71-71-66=208 (-5). O'Dell tied for fourth individually and carded 12 birdies in the tournament.
Cade Barone placed sixth shooting 67-73-69=209 (-4). Barone carded 10 birdies for the tournament.
Lucas Latimer tied for fourth shooting 75-69-68=212 (-1) with 11 birdies while Cole MacMillian tied for twenty-seventh shooting 76-70-72=218 (+5).
Carter Demske also competed for the Cru, tying for fifty-first shooting 76-73-73=222 (+9).
The Cru captured the win by four strokes shooting 847 (-5) for the tournament. UMHB shot -11 in the final round of action to take and secure the lead. In second was Wittenberg University at 851 (-1), followed by Transylvania shooting 860 (+8). Trinity University, Pomona-Pitzer and Southwestern University all tied for fourth shooting 862 (+10).
The Cru finished their fall season with three victories and one second-place finish.
