Women’s Golf finishes second at Carla Spenkoch Invitational

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's golf team placed second at the Carla Spenkoch Invitational Tuesday in San Antonio. Trinity and UMHB battled back and forth during the second round with the Cru coming up just one stroke short.
 
Camryn Kiser and Brooke Kocher led the Cru, tying for third individually at 150 (+8). Kiser shot a pair of 75s while Kocher shot 74-76. Claire Smith placed eighth, shooting 76-77=153 (+11) followed by Julia Sosa in ninth with a 155 (+13). Katie Rhude placed 15th shooting 79-79=158 (+16) with Sofia Carrasco in 16th at 159 (+17).
 
Trinity University won the tournament shooting 298-306= 604 (+36). UMHB placed second shooting 300-305=605 (+37). Redlands placed third shooting 306-301=607 (+39), followed by East Texas Baptist (+79) in fourth and Trinity B team in fifth (+49). 
 
The Cru returns to action October 27th, in Rome, Georgia at the Chick-fil-A Invitational.
