EUGENE, Oregon - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor acrobatics and tumbling team fell to No. 4 University of Oregon Friday evening in Eugene, Oregon. The loss takes the Cru to 3-2 on the season while the Ducks improve to 3-1.
UMHB opened the meet with a 36.250 in Compulsory, highlighted by a 9.550 in Compulsory Pyramid. The Cru followed with a 28.550 in Acro, leading the way with a 9.900 in Five Element, followed by a 9.300 in Six Element, and 9.350 in Seven Element. UMHB finished the first half scoring 29.000 in Pyramid with a pair of 9.6s in Inversion and Synchronized, rounded out by a 9.8 in Open Pyramid. The Cru closed out the first three events with a total score of 93.800.
The Ducks began with a total Compulsory score of 37.300, scoring a pair of 9.7s. Oregon followed with a 29.000 in Acro and a 29.350 in Pyramid to give the Ducks and first-half final score of 95.650.
The Ducks outscored the Cru in the Toss event earning a score of 28.250 to UMHB's 26.750. The Cru earned a total of 51.570 in Tumbling with a high score of 9.225 in the Aerial Pass. The Ducks earned an event-high 9.825 in Aerial Tumbling, totaling 56.750 in the event. The meet was rounded out with a UMHB Team Event that scored 84.380, while Oregon's Team Event hit 94.530 to give the Ducks a 275.180-256.005 victory.
UMHB returns to action in a March 19th home meet against No. 8 Iona University at 6:00pm. The Cru will celebrate Neon Night at the event in conjunction with UMHB's Fellowship of Christian Athletes program.
