BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golf team is in fourth place after the first 36 holes at the Cochran Collegiate in Memphis.
UMHB shot a 315 (+27) in the opening round but rebounded with a 292 (+4) in the second, jumping seven spots to take fourth place. The Cru's 292 (+4) was also the lowest team round of the day.
Cole MacMillan shot a 76-74=150 (+6) to place him in fourth individually.
Evan Acevedo (78-75=153),
Grant Carter (79-74=153) and Treyson Archer (82-71=153) are all tied for 18
th individually at +9. Will Mullin is also competing for the Cru, sitting in 35
th with an 82-73=155 (+11).
Babson leads the tournament with a +23 after the first day, followed by Lynchburg in second at +25 and Oglethorpe in third with a +27. Illinois Wesleyan follows the Cru with a +36 while Millikin holds a +37 and Gustavus Adolphus has a +42. Piedmont, Hampden-Sydney and Rose-Hulman round out the top ten in a field of 17 teams and 9- student athletes.
UMHB returns to action on Tuesday, April 14
th to close the tournament with one round of play at Colonial Country Club.
