Tori Skinner and
Eileigh Whyte were named National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region Third Team, released Thursday.
Tori Skinner, a senior catcher from Teague, was named NFCA Third Team All-Region and First Team All-ASC. Skinner ranked second on the team with a .378 batting average in 40 starts this year. She ranked second on the team with 45 hits in 119 at-bats, adding 22 runs scored. Skinner slammed 12 extra-base hits on a .546 slugging percentage. She added 31 RBI with 65 total bases on the season. Skinner also went 11-for-12 in stolen bases and earned four walks. As a catcher, Skinner tallied 131 putouts with 30 assists. She threw out 13 attempted base stealers and added one double play in a .970 fielding performance.
Eileigh Whyte was named NFCA Third Team All-Region, ASC Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-ASC. Whyte, a senior from Round Rock, threw 110.1 innings for the Cru this season, recording a 12-6 record in the circle. She made 22 appearances in the circle with a 2.28 ERA. Whyte gave up just 36 runs in 419 at-bats, allowing just 117 hits with 54 total strikeouts. She gave up only eight walks, limiting opponents to a .279 batting average this season.
This is the first all-region award for both Skinner and Whyte.
