BELTON, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor senior
Te'Ron Brown has been named American Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 7
th.
Brown, a defensive tackle from Orange, played a pivotal role in the Cru's season opening win against Bethel (Tenn.). Brown forced a fumble on the Wildcats' first offensive possession, returning that grab 19 yards to give the Cru the ball back at midfield. He followed that with another fumble recovery later in the contest, returned 56 yards for a score. Brown added four tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss in the contest.
Noah Garcia (Hardin-Simmons) and Mitchell White (East Texas Baptist) also earned Player of the Week honors. UMHB returns to action on Saturday, September 20
th in an 11 a.m. contest against the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Crusader Stadium in Belton.
