HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fl. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golf team is in 11
th place after the second round of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championship Tuesday.
UMHB is currently tied for 11
th at 585 (+13), shooting a 296 (+12) in round two.
Cole MacMillan led the Cru with an even-par 72 in the second round, placing him in 51
st at 147 (+4) overall.
Colton O'Dell shot a 74 (+2) in the second round, placing him in 132
nd at 154 (+11) overall.
Carter Demske carded a 76 (+4), placing him at 145 (+2) for the tournament, tied for 32
nd.
Lucas Latimer (+7) and
Cade Barone (+5) shot a 78 and 79 respectively, placing them in 88
th and 61
st.
Illinois Wesleyan jumped up six spots to take the team lead, carding a 279 (-9) in the second round to put them at 567 (-5) for the tournament. Washington and Lee moved up nine spaces, shooting a 280 (-8) to place them in second at 570 (-2). Carnegie Mellon dropped to third with a 571 (+2), totaling them at 571 (-1) with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps also tied for third at -1. Methodist rounds out the top five, shooting a 291 (+3) to finish the first two rounds at 575 (+3).
UMHB made the cut as a team and will continue play in the third and fourth rounds Thursday and Friday at Mission Inn.
