Men’s Golf tied for 11th at NCAA DIII Men’s Golf National Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fl. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golf team is in 11th place after the second round of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championship Tuesday.
 
UMHB is currently tied for 11th at 585 (+13), shooting a 296 (+12) in round two. Cole MacMillan led the Cru with an even-par 72 in the second round, placing him in 51st at 147 (+4) overall. Colton O'Dell shot a 74 (+2) in the second round, placing him in 132nd at 154 (+11) overall. Carter Demske carded a 76 (+4), placing him at 145 (+2) for the tournament, tied for 32nd. Lucas Latimer (+7) and Cade Barone (+5) shot a 78 and 79 respectively, placing them in 88th and 61st.
 
Illinois Wesleyan jumped up six spots to take the team lead, carding a 279 (-9) in the second round to put them at 567 (-5) for the tournament. Washington and Lee moved up nine spaces, shooting a 280 (-8) to place them in second at 570 (-2). Carnegie Mellon dropped to third with a 571 (+2), totaling them at 571 (-1) with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps also tied for third at -1. Methodist rounds out the top five, shooting a 291 (+3) to finish the first two rounds at 575 (+3).
 
UMHB made the cut as a team and will continue play in the third and fourth rounds Thursday and Friday at Mission Inn.
