Raffaela Scotto was named Head Acrobatics & Tumbling Coach in June 2022. 

In her first season at the helm, Scotto led the Cru to a 2023 NCATA DIII Tournament Championship and a 10-1 record. The Cru went undefeated against Division III opponents and made the program's first appearance at the NCATA National Championships, competing in Six Element Acro. The Cru also set 23 new program records in the 2023 season and recorded the first perfect 10.0 score (Open Pyramid).

Scotto followed that with a 19-2 season in 2024 as the Cru became the first Division III team to break into the NCATA Top 8 and make a team appearance at the NCATA National Championship. The Cru also won the NCATA Division III title that season, setting multiple program record and recording another perfect 10 score. UMHB also qualified for six NCATA National Championship Event Finals and swept the Division III major awards. Scotto was also named NCATA Coach of the Year. 

UMHB made another appearance in the NCATA National Championships in 2025, also winning the NCATA Division III title and qualifying for four NCATA National Championship Event Finals. 
 
Scotto came to UMHB after a successful student-athlete career at Baylor University. She was a walk-on for Baylor Acrobatics & Tumbling and helped the Bears an individual event national championship and three  NCATA National Championships during her tenure. Scotto earned NCATA Academic Honor Roll and Academic All-Big 12 honors. She competed in all seven meets as a base/back during her senior year.
 
Scotto also participated in Baylor Leadership Retreat, Baylor Built Program and ran bible studies for her teammates during her years at Baylor. She has previous coaching experience with Zero Gravity Gymnastics and Texas Rockstars Special Stars.
 
Scotto holds a degree in Health Human Science from Baylor University and an MBA with a healthcare administration concentration from Texas Woman's University.
