Mary Haridin-Baylor Athletics

Brownwood, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's tennis team rallied from a deficit in doubles to post four clutch wins in singles as the Cru held on for a 5-4 victory over Howard Payne University Saturday in Brownwood. The UMHB men improve to 7-5 overall and 4-1 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory and the win also clinches a berth in the ASC Championship Tournament for the Cru men. Howard Payne drops to 7-5 overall and 3-2 in the ASC West Division with the loss.

 

The UMHB men will return to action with a 2:00 PM non-conference dual match at Southwestern University Friday in Georgetown. The Cru will then return home to host Hardin-Simmons University for a 2:00 PM ASC West Division match at the Yvonne Li Tennis Center next Saturday. UMHB can clinch the #2 seed in the ASC Tournament with a win over the Cowboys in that match.
