Belton, TX— The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor baseball team rallied with a three-run ninth inning as the Cru posted a 6-5 victory over University of the Ozarks 6-5 Friday night. The Cru improves to 7-4 on the year with the victory. The loss drops the Eagles to 5-6 on the year.
The two teams both put runs on the board in the second inning.
Zach Young's RBI triple in the fourth gave the Cru a 2-1 lead and UMHB stretched it to 3-1 on a run-scoring error in the fifth inning. Ozarks scored two in the sixth to tie the game and scored single runs in the seventh and eighth to take a 5-3 lead. The Cru opened the bottom of the ninth with three straight singles.
Josh Fredrick had the third single to drive in the first run of the inning. The tying run scored on a fielding error and
Braden Embry singled home the game-winner with nobody out.

Seth Mogavero had two hits apiece for UMHB. Michael Prusator and Chris Young had two hits each for the Eagles. Jaime Theriot earned the win for the Cru to improve to 2-0 with one a two-thirds innings of scoreless relief work. Mitchell Powers took the loss for Ozarks to fall to 1-1.
The two teams will close out the series with a 12:00 PM doubleheader tomorrow. UMHB will then host Wabash College for a 6:00 PM non-conference game next Wednesday at Red Murff Field.
