Belton, TX— The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor baseball team stormed back from an early deficit, but the Cru's comeback fell just short in a 7-5 loss to 17th-ranked Concordia Texas Friday night in Belton. The loss drops UMHB to 13-13 overall and 4-6 in American Southwest Conference West Division play. The Tornados improve to 22-6 overall and 8-2 in the ASC West Division on the year with the victory.

Concordia took a 3-0 lead on Kyle Bieschke's RBI single and a two-run error in the top of the second inning. The Tornados added single runs in the fourth and fifth to push the lead to 5-0 and used Quinn Guest's two-run single to make it a 7-0 lead in the top of the sixth. The Cru cut it to 7-5 with a five-run seventh. Seth Lynn singled home the first run and Zach Crosswhite followed with a grand slam. UMHB would bring the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the ninth, but could not push across a run.
