Men's Tennis falls to UTD in ASC Tournament

Box Score Tyler, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's tennis team fell behind during doubles and never recovered as U.T.-Dallas posted a 5-0 victory over the Cru in the opening round of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament Friday morning in Tyler. The loss ends the Cru's season at 9-7 on the spring. U.T.-Dallas improves to 11-3 on the spring with the victory.
 
The Comets swept through doubles to take a 3-0 lead. The Cru won the first set in three of the six singles matches, but U.T.-Dallas posted victories at #3 and #6 singles to clinch the victory and move on to the tournament semifinals. 
 
The Comets will now advance to tomorrow's semifinals to face defending conference champion U.T.-Tyler University at 9:30 AM. The loss ends the Cru's season and the UMHB careers of seniors Garrett Pekar and Josh Pownall.
