Box Score Photo GalleryTyler, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's tennis team fell behind in doubles and could not overcome that deficit in singles as the Cru lost to tournament host and defending conference champion U.T.-Tyler 5-0 in the Championship Match of the American Southwest Conference Tournament Saturday morning in Tyler. The UMHB men were making their first appearance in the ASC Tournament Championship Match.
The Patriots swept through doubles, winning 8-3 at #3 doubles and 8-2 at #2 doubles.
Scott Wilding and Jake Stamps pushed Frankie Fischer and Chris Wootton at #1 doubles before falling 8-6, giving U.T.-Tyler a 3-0 lead entering singles play. The Patriots then grabbed wins at #6 and #3 singles to close out the match. UMHB was trailing in three of the other four matches, but
Brendan Thompson was up a set at #4 singles when the match was decided. Wilding and Stamps were both named to the All-Tournament Team.
The loss ends the Cru's season at 11-4 overall. The defeat also closes out the UMHB playing careers of seniors

Tevin Ogo and Stamps. The Patriots improve to 17-7 with the victory and win their second straight and seventh overall ASC title. U.T.-Tyler also clinches the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships with the win.
