Tournament BracketTournament HistoryTournament Central PageTYLER, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor softball team will open play at the 2015 American Southwest Conference Softball Championship Tournament Thursday on the campus of the University of Texas at Tyler. The Cru finished the regular season an 18-12 record in conference play and will be the No. 5 seed at the tournament. The tournament runs Thursday, April 30
th through Saturday, May 2
nd with the championship game set for 5 p.m. Saturday.
UMHB will open the tournament Thursday in a 1 p.m. contest against No. 4 seed Hardin-Simmons. The winner of that contest will advance to face No. 1 seed and tournament-host U.T.-Tyler at 7 p.m. on Thursday. No. 3 seed Louisiana College will open the tournament Thursday in a 10 a.m. game against No. 6 seed LeTourneau with the winner of that game advancing to face No. 2 seed East Texas Baptist at 4 p.m. on Thursday. Friday's schedule will feature elimination bracket games beginning at 10 a.m. with the elimination bracket semifinal game and tournament championship to be played Saturday. Sunday is reserved as a weather day and will also host an if necessary game should the double-elimination tournament require it.
UMHB is making its 16
th consecutive appearance in the tournament, tying East Texas Baptist as the conference school with the most appearances in the event. The Cru is 17-30 all-time in the tournament and has made it to the championship match three times. UMHB is 1-2 this season against Hardin-Simmons, falling 3-5 and 4-8 before taking the third game of the series with a 10-8 win. The Cowgirls enter the tournament with a 19-11 mark in conference play and 22-14 overall record. The tournament also features three nationally-ranked opponents in No. 2 U.T.-Tyler, No. 3 East Texas Baptist and No. 21 Louisiana College.

th year of the ASC Softball Championship Tournament and third year the bracket has included eight teams. Admission to the event is $5 for adults and #4 for students. The winner of the tournament will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Softball Championship with regional play beginning May 8
