BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team will open postseason play in the 2016 American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 3
rd in Belton. With the West Division Championship, UMHB earned the right to host the tournament which will run from Thursday, Nov. 3
rd to Saturday, Nov. 5
th at the Mayborn Campus Center.
UMHB will compete as the No. 1 seed in the West Division and will have a first-round bye. Tournament play begins on Thursday, Nov. 5
th at 12 p.m. with West Division No. 2 seed Hardin-Simmons taking on East Division No. 3 seed East Texas Baptist. The winner of that match will advance to face East Division No. 1 seed UT Dallas at 5 p.m. East Division No. 2 seed UT Tyler will open play at 2:30 p.m. and face West Division No. 3 seed Howard Payne with the winner advancing to face UMHB at 7:30 p.m. The championship match will be played on Saturday, Nov. 5
th at 2 p.m. with an if-needed game to follow.

Abby Voskuil is back for her senior season while setter
Natasha Evans returns for her junior campaign and middle hitter
Maddie Frerich is back for her sophomore year. Voskuil leads the Cru with 238 kills and 803 total attacks in her senior year, adding 245 digs for UMHB. Evans ranks third in the ASC with 838 assists for an 8.73 assist per set average while Frerich is the conference's leading blocker with 118 total blocks this year.
Frost also welcomed a solid group of freshman to this year's squad, led by libero
Haleigh Evans. Evans has 354 digs on the season, averaging 4.07 digs per set. Setter
Miranda Klein and outside hitter
Sarah Paolini are also heavy contributors. Klein has 168 kills this season with 104 assists. Paolini is back with UMHB after taking a medical redshirt last season; she is hitting .248 this year with 186 kills and 64 blocks.
