Box Score Photo GalleryBelton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's tennis team posted four big wins at the top of the line-up and pulled through with a gutsy win at #6 singles as the Cru posted a 5-4 victory over East Texas Baptist Saturday in Belton. The UMHB men improve to 1-1 on the spring with the victory. The loss drops the Tigers to 1-5 on the spring.
The Cru jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles as
Brendan Thompson and
Julian Dunmore won at #1 and
Scott Wilding and
Alex Mackellar teamed for a victory at #2 doubles. Wilding added a win at #1 singles and Thompson won at #2 singles before the Tigers swept through 3, 4 and 5 singles. UMHB's
Bright Ihezue won the first set, fought off a second-set loss and topped ETBU's Reid Adams 10-6 in the tiebreaker at #6 singles to clinch the victory for UMHB.
UMHB will return to action with an 11:00 AM non-conference match at Schreiner University in Kerrville on March 5
th.
