BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor softball team dropped a 3-2 decision to Concordia University Texas Sunday afternoon in Belton. The loss dropped the Cru to 7-14 on the season and 6-12 in American Southwest Conference action while the Tornados improved to 6-14 overall and 3-9 in league play.
Leah Brown opened the day with a home run to right center field to put UMHB up 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning. UMHB held that lead until the top of the fifth inning when Angelica Rameriz scored, tying the game at 1-1. Kourtney Cummings and tie the game once again at two runs each. The Tornados again grabbed a lead in the top of the seventh inning when Brooke Jones hit an RBI single to left field to score Haley Dennett for a 3-2 advantage and eventually, win.

Kasi Cummings both recorded RBI for the Cru.
Karen Tennis took the loss in the circle, giving up three runs on nine hits with four strikeouts. Lauren Camacho earned the win for the Tornados, allowing two runs on seven hits with one strikeout. UMHB totaled two runs on seven hits with two errors while Concordia Texas had three runs on nine hits with one error.
UMHB continues action on Thursday, March 24
th in a 12 p.m. doubleheader at University of the Ozarks. The Cru will finish that series on Friday, March 25
th in a 12 p.m. single game before returning home to face Louisiana College April 1
st-2
