Box Score Abilene, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's tennis team rallied in singles, but that comeback fell short as the Cru dropped a 7-2 decision to McMurry University Friday afternoon in Abilene. UMHB drops to 4-8 on the spring with the loss while the Warhawks improve to 9-9 with the victory.
UMHB was swept in doubles to trail 3-0 going into singles play.
Brendan Thompson posted a 6-4, 7-6 win at #3 singles and
Scott Wilding won at #1 when his opponent retired, but McMurry claimed the other four singles matches.
UMHB will now close out the regular season with an 11:00 AM match at Hardin-Simmons on Saturday in Abilene. The Cru men have already clinched a berth in the ASC Championship Tournament.
