Box Score Richardson, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's tennis team fell behind in doubles and could not make up any ground in singles play as the Cru fell to U.T.-Tyler 5-0 Thursday afternoon in Richardson. That loss comes in the Quarterfinals of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament.
The Cru fell 8-1 at #3 and then #2 doubles to fall behind 2-0.
Scott Wilding and
Brendan Thompson pushed Arthur Fagundes and Frankie Fischer at #1 doubles, but fell 9-8(2) to give the Patriots a 3-0 edge going into singles play. U.T.-Tyler then posted straight set victories at #5 and #6 singles to clinch the match. UMHB was also down a set at each of the other four singles matches when play was stopped as it reached a decision.
The loss ends UMHB's season at 4-10. The Cru does not have a senior on the roster and Wilding was the only upperclassman to play in the ASC Tournament for the UMHB men. U.T.-Tyler improves to 15-9 on the year with the victory and advances to Friday's Semifinals to face Hardin-Simmons University.
