ALPINE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's tennis team grabbed the lead after doubles and then swept through singles as the Cru topped Sul Ross State 8-1 Friday in Alpine. UMHB picked up doubles wins from
Cole Weiss and
Jace Mahan at #2 and
Alex Mackellar and
Jake Boles at #3 to grab the lead before breezing through all six singles matches. The Cru improves to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in American Southwest Conference West Division play with the victory. The loss drops the Lobos to 1-13 overall and 0-1 in the ASC on the year.
The Cru will now return home to open a three-match home stand. UMHB will host Southwestern University for a 2:30 pm dual match on Sunday to open that stretch.
