Men's Tennis closes out play at ASC Individual Tournament

ABILENE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's tennis team closed out play at the American Southwest Conference Individual Tournament Saturday in Abilene.
 
Cole Weiss won third place in flight "A" singles with a 5-7, 6-2, 10-4 victory. Jace Mahan took fifth place in flight "B" singles with a 6-3, 6-3 win. Alex Mackellar claimed third place in flight "C" with a 6-2, 2-6, 10-2 victory. Brian Martin won 6-0, 6-1 in his final match to take seventh in flight "D". Jake Boles finished sixth in flight "E" after falling 6-1, 6-1. Josh Roselius won third in flight "F" with a 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 decision. Brandon Huckabee finished seventh in flight "G" with a 6-3, 5-0, ret. decision. John Swords lost his final round match in flight "H" 7-5, retired and Jeremy Hopcus lost his final match in flight "I" 6-1, 6-4.
 
Mahan and Weiss finished sixth in flight "A" doubles after falling 8-5. Martin and Mackellar took fifth in flight "B" with an 8-5 win. Boles and Roselius won 9-8(3) in flight "C" to take fifth place. Huckabee and Swords fell 8-5 in flight "D" to finish in sixth place.
 
The Cru men will return to action with the ITA Southwest Regional Tournament. That event will be played September 27-30 in Abilene.
