BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's tennis team won three points but could not overcome a deficit after doubles as the Cru fell to Schreiner 6-3 in the spring opener Saturday in Belton. UMHB is 0-1 to start the year while the Mountaineers improve to 2-1.
UMHB took a doubles point with an 8-6 win from
Jace Mahan and
Brian Martin at #2. Mahan added a victory at #4 singles and
Alex Mackellar took a three-set victory at #5 singles for the Cru, but the Mountaineers swept through the rest of the singles matches for the victory.
The Cru returns to action with another home match against Texas Lutheran University next Saturday. That match is scheduled for a 2 pm start at the Yvonne Li Tennis Center.
