BELTON, Texas – It took just two meets for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Acrobatics & Tumbling team to earn its first-ever win. The Cru earned a 234.335-209.970 win over East Texas Baptist University Sunday afternoon in Marshall, improving to 1-1 in its inaugural season.
UMHB opened the meet with a 30.95 score in the Compulsory event, scoring a 9.35 in compulsory pyramid and a 9.30 in compulsory toss. The Cru trailed East Texas Baptist 33.55-30.95 heading into the Acro event, where UMHB took its first lead of the season. UMHB outscored the Tigers 25.35-16.35 in the event, taking a 56.30-49.90 lead in the meet. The Cru edged the Tigers 25.80-24.45 in the Pyramid event, holding an 82.10, 74.35 lead after the first three events.
The Cru earned its third event win in Toss with a 22.90, but fell 42.400-42.025 in Tumbling. The Cru sealed its inaugural victory with an 87.31 score in Team Event, beating East Texas Baptist University with a final score of 234.335-209.970.
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, March 19
th in a 6 p.m. match against Arizona Christian University at the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton.
