BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's tennis team battled in its first match of the spring season, but fell to nationally-ranked Southwestern University 9-0 Saturday at the Yvonne Li Tennis Center. The Cru is now 0-1 to start the season. The 30
th-ranked Pirates improve to 2-0 on the spring with the victory.
Southwestern swept through the three doubles matches with UMHB taking three games at both #2 and #3 doubles. The Pirates finished it out by winning all six singles matches.
Cody Aaron fell 7-5, 6-1 at #5 singles in the closest match of the day for the Cru men.
The UMHB men will hit the road to play three matches next weekend. The Cru will face East Texas Baptist Friday in Marshall before taking on LeTourneau University and Millsaps College in dual matches Saturday in Longview.
