GLENDALE, Arizona – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Acrobatics & Tumbling team came from behind in the final event to take a 255.340-250.385 win over Arizona Christian University Thursday evening in Glendale.
UMHB opened the meet with a 36.400 in Compulsory, highlighted by a 9.650 in Compulsory Pyramid and a 9.450 in Compulsory Toss. The Firestorm saw four straight scores of 9.0 or better in the event, earning a 37.350. UMHB put up another 9.650 and a 9.400 in Acro, totaling 27.850 while ACU ended that event with a 28.050. The Cru closed out the first half of action with a 9.200, 9.500 and 9.500 in Pyramid, outscoring the Firestorm 28.250-25.950 in that event. UMHB went into halftime with a 92.500-91.350 lead after the first three events.
ACU came back in the Toss event, scoring a 26.950 highlighted by a 9.800 in the third heat. UMHB totaled 25.250 in that event and went on to score a 49.100 in Tumbling. The Firestorm scored a 52.425 in Tumbling and held a 170.725-166.850 lead going into Team event. UMHB earned its second win of the season with an 88.490 in Team, outscoring the Firestorm by 8.83 to earn the win.

st in a 6 p.m. meet against Hawaii Pacific University at the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton.
