ROUND ROCK, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's cross country team opened the 2021 season with a second-place finish at the Concordia University Texas Tornado Watch 5K Wednesday morning in Round Rock.
The University of Texas won the event with 15 total points. The Longhorns placed all seven runners in the top seven. UMHB recorded a team total of 63 to finish in second. The Cru had seven runners in the top 20 and lead Division III opponents by 12 points. Texas Lutheran University finished the meet in third with 75 points, followed by Concordia Texas in fourth with 110 points and Huston-Tillotson in fifth with 144 points.
UMHB's
Holly Dasher was the top Division III runner at the meet. Dasher finished eighth with a total time of 20:54.0.
Caitlyn Thrasher was the next Crusader to cross the finish line. Thrasher finished 12
th with a time of 21:21.8.
Amanda Stockton finished 30 seconds later in 12
th place while
Lindsey Smith came in 14
th with a time of 22:06.3.
Taylor Wells (22:45.0),
Katherine Ressler (22:57.5) and
Ana Hernandez (23:25.6) finished in 16th through 18
th.
Chylar Greer was UMHB's other top-20 finisher, crossing at 24:13.5.
Madison Krause (24:18.0),
Alexi Warkentin (24:35.7) and
Victoria Hernandez (24:52.4) finished 21
st – 23
rd while Briana Munoz added a time of 26:17.8 to finish 26
th for the Cru.
The Cru returns to action on Saturday, September 18
th at the Our Lady of the Lake Invitational at 7:30 a.m. in San Antonio.
