KINGSVILLE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor beach volleyball team dropped a pair of matches today in Kingsville.
Aliana Rojas and
Kaylie Vasil earned the program's first line win against a Division II program, taking a 17-21, 21-17, 15-12 win at No. 2 against Texas A&M-Kingsville. The Cru dropped that match 4-1.
Head Coach
Mark Pryor said it was a great day to measure the program's progress. The first time the Cru faced off against Kingsville it wasn't a close match. Pryor said the loss today was a small step and he felt there were pairs that really showed improvement.
UMHB followed that with a 5-0 loss to Division I opponent Abilene Christian University.
"We had a couple pairs that were exceptionally close to winning sets and even matches," Pryor said.
He added the Cru is looking forward to being home and competing in Belton tomorrow.
