Acrobatics & Tumbling breaks four program records in meet against Baylor

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Acrobatics & Tumbling team broke five school records in their final home meet Friday night in Belton. The Cru fell to No. 1 Baylor University 279.460-257.725 in the meet.
 
UMHB opened the meet with a school-record 37.650 in compulsory, highlighted by a 9.750 in compulsory pyramid. Baylor University scored a 38.400 in that event with a 9.950 in compulsory toss. In the Acro event, UMHB totaled 28.900 and set new program records in 5 Element (9.750) and 7 Element (9.600). UMHB finished the first half of action with a 29.000 in Pyramid. The Bears scored a 29.700 in Acro and a 29.750 in Pyramid to lead 98.100-95.550 after the first three events.
 
The Cru scored a pair of 8.500s in the Toss Event, totaling 25.350. Hanan Vasquez highlighted UMHB's Tumbling event, scoring a 9.250 in the 6 Element Pass. The Cru totaled a 50.575 in the Tumbling event and ended the meet with a 86.250 in Team Event. Baylor scored a 28.950 in Toss, a 57.400 in Tumbling and a 95.010 in Team event.
  
Abby Bonniwell and Caroline Perry were also honored as graduating seniors at the meet. Bonniwell and Perry were both part of the inaugural University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Acrobatics & Tumbling team in 2020.
 
UMHB closes the series in a 6 p.m. contest at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall on Thursday, April 7th.
