CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor beach volleyball team went 1-2 at the University of Central Arkansas/Hendrix Tournament Saturday in Conway.
UMHB opened the day with a 3-2 win over Ottawa. The Cru earned wins at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5. UMHB followed with a loss to Stevenson, but
Aliana Rojas and Hannah Frasca earned a win in the third flight. The Cru ended the day with a 3-2 loss to Berry College. UMHB took flight wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Hannah Frasca and
Aliana Rojas went undefeated on the day while
Gracie Nichols and Ella Brunson went 2-1.
"Today was a great day for our program," Head Coach
Mark Pryor said. "We saw a ton of progress throughout the lineup."
Pryor added that last time the Cru and Ottawa faced off, UMHB dropped a 3-2 decision so he was pleased wtih the result today. Stevenson's beach volleyball program has been around for six seasons, but Pryor was impressed with how his team played against the Mustangs.
"We had multiple pairs play career matches," he added.
The Cru returns to action on Tuesday, March 29
th in a 4 p.m. contest against Abilene Christian University at the UMHB Rec Courts in Belton.
