MARSHALL, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Acrobatics and Tumbling team earned a 25-point win over East Texas Baptist University Thursday in Marshall. The Cru outscored the Tigers 257.270-231.485.
UMHB opened the event with a 36.700 in Compulsory, highlighted by a 9.750 in Compulsory Pyramid. The Cru followed that with a 27.150 in Acro, scoring a 9.250 in Five Element and a 9.300 in Six Element. UMHB closed the half with a 28.600 in Pyramid, setting a new program record with a 9.900 in Open Pyramid. East Texas Baptist opened the meet with a 31.850 in Compulsory and followed with a 21.700 in Acro and 25.250 in Pyramid, giving UMHB a 92.450-78.800 lead at the half.
The Cru opened the second half of action with a 24.900 in the Toss Event. UMHB followed with their second-highest season score in Tumbling, totaling a 52.550.
Kensley Walters set a new school record with a 9.325 in the Aerial Pass while
Hanan Vasquez scored a 9.200 in the Six Element Pass. UMHB closed the meet with an 87.370 in Team Event, totaling 257.720 points in the matchup. East Texas Baptist totaled 23.700 in Toss, 47.375 in Tumbling and 81.610 in Team Event for a final point-total of 231.485.
UMHB ends the 2022 season at 3-3 with a pair of wins over East Texas Baptist and a win against Concordia University Wisconsin. The Cru dropped two decisions to No. 1 Baylor (DI) and one verdict to No. 2 Azusa Pacific (DII).
