BELTON, Texas - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor baseball team came from behind and scrapped their way to a 5-3 victory over conference opponent, Concordia University Friday night in Belton. The win for the Cru brings their record to 15-12 on the season and 9-10 in American Southwest Conference play. The loss for the Tornados drops their record to 11-15 overall and 10-9 in the ASC.

Concordia scored first and jumped to an early 3-0 lead in the second inning of the contest. The Tornados first scored on a ground ball error by the Crusader shortstop and Aaron Gomez followed it up with an RBI single to make it 2-0. Shawn Huber capped off the scoring for Concordia with an RBI fielder's choice to give them the 3-0 advantage. In the third inning,
Caimyn Holiday was able to get UMHB on the board with an RBI double and came around to score on an RBI single by
Malek Bolin to cut the Tornado lead to one. After a scoreless fourth frame, Bolin drove in the tying run with another RBI single making the score 3-3.
Sam Muniga gave the Crusaders their first lead of the day in the sixth inning when he drove in
Ryan Farmer with an RBI single.
Kaden deBerardinis grabbed an insurance run and finished off the scoring for UMHB with a leadoff solo homerun in the seventh to make the score 5-3. UMHB recorded three stolen bases in the victory and
Malek Bolin led the way with three hits and two RBI.

James McGlumphy started on the mound for UMHB and earned the win (4-2). McGlumphy threw six innings and allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out four batters.
Trevor Ripke came in relief and threw three scoreless innings allowing just one hit. Ripke recorded his first save of the year. Colton Hunter started on the mound and surrendered the loss for Concordia (0-2). Hunter threw six innings and gave up four runs on nine hits, striking out three batters. Michael Smith came in relief for Hunter and threw two innings. Smith gave up one run on one hit and struck out two batters in his two innings of work.

th with a double header starting at 1 P.M. at Red Murff Field in Belton. The Crusaders will be supporting breast cancer awareness in honor of Sonya Musgrove tomorrow with a "Pink Out".
