BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team added
Morris Lolar to the coaching staff this week. He will work with the secondary.
Lolar comes to UMHB after spending time as an assistant coach at Dodge City Community College. Prior to DCCC he spent the 2019 season as the secondary coach for the Montreal Alouttes of the Canadian Football League. During Lolar's time with the Alouttes, he coached three All-Eastern Conference players and a CFL All-Star.
Before his time in Montreal, Lolar was the head coach for NAIA school, Bethel College (KS) for three seasons. Other coaching stops include Defiance College (DIII), Independence Community College (NJCAA) and Texas A&M-Commerce (DII). Lolar also served as head coach of the Wichita Wild (Indoor Football League) where he led the team to the IFL championship.
Lolar, a Wichita, Kansas native, started his collegiate career at The University of Minnesota, where he started four games as a freshman. He transferred to Friends University, where he was a two-time First Team All-American defensive back. Lolar also played professionally with the Kansas City Chiefs, Edmonton Eskimos (CFL) and Winnipeg Blue Bombers (CFL).
Lolar takes over the secondary coach position replacing
Larry Harmon, as he was promoted to head coach of the Cru in January 2022.
