Acrobatics and Tumbling breaks two records in 2023 Season Opener

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor acrobatics and tumbling team opened the 2023 season with a record-breaking performance against Texas Lutheran University Saturday evening in Belton. The Cru won 250.380-99.225 over the Bulldogs.
 
UMHB opened the meet with a 36.45 in Compulsory, highlighted by a 9.80 in the Pyramid heat, while the Bulldogs scored a 16.10 in the event. The Cru recorded a 27.15 in the Acro event with a 9.45 in 5 Element. UMHB closed the half with a 28.65 in Pyramid, scoring a 9.70 in Open Pyramid. TLU recorded a 10.15 in the Acro event and a 20.60 in Pyramid. UMHB went into halftime with a 92.25-46.85 advantage over the Bulldogs.
 
The Cru opened the second half with a record-setting 26.60 in the Toss event. During that event, UMHB broke another program record with a 9.45 in 450 Salto. The Bulldogs recorded a 17.25 in Toss, scoring an 8.40 in 450 Salto. The Cru scored a 49.850 in Tumbling while the Bulldogs added a 35.125. UMHB totaled an 81.680 to secure the 250.380-99.225 victory.
 
UMHB returns to action Tuesday, February 21st in a 6 p.m. meet against East Texas Baptist University in Marshall.
