SEGUIN, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor acrobatics and tumbling team closed out the regular season with a 257.535-104.250 win over Texas Lutheran University Saturday afternoon in Seguin. The win improved the Cru to 7-1 on the season.
UMHB opened the meet with a 36.400 in Compulsory, highlighted by a 9.600 in Compulsory Pyramid. The Cru followed that with a 26.800 in Acro, scoring a 9.650 in Five Element. UMHB closed the first half of action with a 28.100 in Pyramid, scoring 9.20 or higher in all three heats.
Texas Lutheran opened with a 14.900 in Compulsory, 12.100 in Acro and 24.100 in Pyramid, giving UMHB a 91.300-51.100 lead after the first three events.
The Cru opened the second half with a 25.650 in Toss, highlighted by a 9.150 in 450 Salto Toss. UMHB followed that with a 52.075 in Tumbling, scoring 9.00 or higher in all three individual passes. The Cru finished the meet with an 88.510 score in Team Event for a 257.535. Texas Lutheran scored a 15.950 in Toss and a 37.200 in Tumbling to finish with a 104.250. The Bulldogs are in their first competitive season with Acrobatics & Tumbling and do not have the appropriate numbers to compete a Team event.
