BELTON, Texas - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Acrobatics and Tumbling team defeated Concordia University Wisconsin in the NCATA DIII Tournament Semifinals Friday night in Belton. The win also improved the Cru to 9-1 on the season.

The Cru opened the meet with a 36.9 in the Compulsory event. UMHB followed that with a trio of 9.55+ scores to earn a 29.10 in Acro and tacked on 29.40 more points in Pyramid, highlighted by a 9.95 in Open Pyramid. The Cru went into the break with a running-total of 95.40.

The Falcons began action with a 31.45 in the Compulsory event followed by a 23.90 in Acro. CUW scored three 9s in the Pyramid event to go into the half at 83.40.

UMHB continued strong in the second half of action with a 27.30 in the Toss Event. The Cru continued their record-breaking season with a 54.025 in Tumbling, setting three new program records.
Hanan Vasquez and
Jenna Hall were first with a 9.0 in the Duo Tumbling Pass followed by
Mya Mannka,
Ali Jasinski and
Jackie McGuire with an 8.7 in the Trio Pass. Kensely Walters added one more, breaking her own record with a 9.625 in the Open Pass.

The Falcons recorded a 26.70 in the Toss event, highlighted by a 9.70 in the 450 Salto Toss. CUW added a 47.575 in the Tumbling event followed by an 83.14 in the Team event. UMHB closed the meet with an 89.22 in Team Event to earn the 265.945-240.815 victory.

UMHB advances to face. No. 2 seed Trine University in a 6 p.m. championship tomorrow at the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton. The tournament also features event finals at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 15th. UMHB earned a spot in all 15 heats with a top-three score in each heat during the regular season. Admission to the tournament is free.
