BELTON, Texas - University of Mary Hardin-Baylor kicker Edwin Lopez has been named American Southwest Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending November 17th.
Lopez, a sophomore from The Colony, tied the NCAA Division III record for field goals made in a game last week with six against Howard Payne. He hit in field goals from 35, 47, 34, 26, 41 and 23 yards out to break the ASC and UMHB mark in that category. Lopez added five extra-point kicks in the contest with nine kickoffs and two punts. He totaled 23 points scored in the contest.
UMHB returns to action in the 2024 NCAA Division III Football Playoffs Saturday, November 23rd in a noon kickoff at Trinity University in San Antonio.
